Sacred Stay – The Soul’s Last Touch

I tried to walk away
but the wind had your voice.
I turned from the sky
but the clouds wore your smile.
I closed the door,
but my breath whispered your name
before sleep could hush it.
Maybe I am not moving,
not forward, not back.
Maybe I’m still not stuck.
I am not avoidant.
I am devoted
in a world that forgot how to stay.
Some people love
by leaving.
I love by remaining.
And if I am in the same place, it’s because
that’s where your soul
last touched mine.
And some touch
is holy.
