Soul Reflection

Some reflections are not of the face, but of the soul where waiting ends and dignity begins

In lives before, I waited.

Through cycles of birth and breath,

I carried your name like a flame,

a light that would not go out.

I nurtured, I sheltered, I gave

more than even I had to give.

That is my nature, my vow,

the blessing and the burden of my soul.

But in this life,

my waiting must end.

Love is not silence,

nor is it broken promises.

A bond does not excuse betrayal,

and even echoes must honor truth.

If you return,

it will be by your own calling

not because I held the door open forever.

And if you search and do not know

what you are searching for,

that is your journey, not mine.

I have loved you deeply,

and nothing can erase that.

But my heart is not a prison;

my heart is a temple.

Here I stand, releasing the wait,

claiming the dignity of my soul,

trusting the universe

to bring me the love meant for me.

And so, my wait is over.
