Who Am I?
I am not measured
by the height of applause,
nor by the glitter
of passing seasons.
I have walked instead
toward the quiet light
where meaning outlives ambition, and truth asks for no witness.
I have built with patient hands,
trusted with an open heart,
and carried burdens long after they ceased to be mine.
Then grace taught me
the holiest of questions:
Is this mine to carry?
And in that single question,
I found the freedom that strength alone could never give.
Discernment became my lantern, lit not by certainty,
but by the wisdom of God.
It taught me that love does not require surrendering oneself,
that kindness needs no chains, and that silence,
when chosen with peace,
is often the truest voice.
I have learned
to seek depth above abundance,
presence above promises,
character above charm.
My word is given carefully
and kept faithfully.
I honor the space where another soul may grow,
for love that seeks to possess
has forgotten how to love.
The roots that hold me
are faith, family, and the quiet dignity of an honest heart.
I ask for no stage,
no crown,no restless parade of companions.
A single steadfast hand
is richer than a thousand passing waves.
For life is not a circus,
and wisdom does not chase
every wandering distraction.
If I leave a mark upon this earth, let it not be written in stone, but in burdens gently lifted, paths faithfully tended,
and hearts left stronger
than when they found mine.
For I was never called
to shine the brightest.
I was called to shine with purpose.
And when my journey is complete, may it be said only this:
She walked with truth.
She loved without fear.
She discerned with grace.
And she left the world
more whole than she found it.
