“When you say yes to others, make sure you’re not saying no to yourself” -Paulo Coelho

Are you someone who is facing a hard time saying no? Do you feel that sometimes that your time is taken for granted? Then you should start setting boundaries. When you spend your time and energy to make other’s life easier and ignore your own life, you are draining yourself both mentally and physically. Guess what? Setting healthy boundaries is going to save you from all these troubles. It is essential for maintaining emotional health, encouraging respect in relationships, and ensuring personal well-being. When you feel, uncomfortable, disrespected, or overwhelmed, it is important to notice and work on those situations instead of brushing them off.

Most of the time, you end up saying yes at your expense, to not offend the other person. However, when you are available to everyone every time, they will not value you or your time. You will end up feeling stressed, and unappreciated, which later leads to feelings of hate and resentment, which can hinder your mental peace and progress. Relationships should be built on mutual respect. Anyone who does not respect your decisions, do not deserve your attention. So, by setting healthy boundaries, you make it clear to yourself and others, that your time, energy and feelings matter. It also shows that you acknowledge your worth by not overcommitting and not tolerating disrespect. Boundaries allow you to prioritize your goals, dreams and to not compromise your values and beliefs. You will have clarity in your decisions and express yourself confidently with more honesty and transparency. The most important thing about setting boundaries is that you eradicate toxicity and attract only people and opportunities, that align with your purpose. Hence, setting boundaries without feeling guilty about it.

Every boundary you set is a step closer to the life you deserve.
