Still Blooming

Even after life's longest winters, the heart still remembers how to play.

I hid among the blue flowers,

covering my smile like a child playing peekaboo.

For a little while,

there were no worries,

no yesterday,

no tomorrow.

Only the breeze,

the open sky,

and a heart that remembered

how to laugh.

Life has not always been gentle.

It has left its scars,

its lessons,

and its tears.

But it never took away

my faith,

my wonder,

or the little girl inside me.

So here I am

still smiling,

still believing,

still blooming.
