Carried Before I Knew I Was Falling

When the sand held two sets of footprints,
I was strong enough to walk.
When it held only one,
You did not leave
You lifted.
You carried me through storms I survived
without knowing how.
You spoke wisdom into silence,
strength into trembling bones,
peace into rooms where fear once lived.
Even when I did not call Your name,
You were already working.
Not with thunder or flame,
but with faithfulness
a hand on my shoulder,
a calm in my chest,
a path opening where none existed.
You taught me that anger is a compass,
not a weapon
that forgiveness frees the soul,
that justice does not hurry
but never forgets.
People came as lessons,
as blessings,
as seasons that passed.
You alone remained.
You prepared my table,
anointed my head,
filled my cup beyond measure.
You were my healer when I was wounded,
my peace when I was shaken,
my strength when I had none left.
Now when they ask,
“What is it that she carries?”
I know the answer.
I carry You.
Living in my heart.
Walking in my days.
Holding me still.
My all in all.
Yesterday.
Today.
Forever.
