Govt School Students: Here’s Your Chance to Become a Doctor – Free NEET Coaching Available!

This NEET coaching centre at Magudanchavadi in Salem district offers free coaching for government school children eligible for medical admission under the 7.5% quota.

Twenty-year-old Akila, a government school student from Edappadi in Salem district, is living her dream. The daughter of a painter and a tailor couple, she is now pursuing MBBS at a private medical college in Tiruvannamalai—fully funded by the Tamil Nadu government.

With her family unable to afford private NEET coaching, Akila’s hopes of becoming a doctor once seemed distant. That changed when she enrolled in a free NEET coaching program by the Kanakavalli Shanmuganathan Trust at Magudanchavadi in Salem district after Class XII, which completely transformed her trajectory.

“I scored 483 in NEET and got admission under the 7.5% quota for government school students,” she told TellMyStory.in  “They taught us well, gave us regular tests, clarified all our doubts—and that made this possible.”

Two hundred kilometres away in Pudukottai, Kishore—son of a driver, scored 449 in NEET through the same CSR initiative. He’s now hopeful of securing admission in a government medical college. “My family could never have afforded private coaching. The experienced teachers and support here made all the difference,” he said.

This life-changing coaching is offered by the Kanakavalli Shanmuganathan Trust, established by the family that founded Ganga Hospital in Coimbatore. Their centre, located at Magudanchavadi supports government school students eligible under the 7.5% reservation scheme, offering both Tamil and English medium options. This year, it also provides hostel facilities for girls at a nominal ₹3,000/month for food.

Akila from a humble background cracked NEET and is now pursuing MBBS at a private medical college, thanks to the free coaching by The Kanakavalli Shanmuganathan Trust.

“It began when my son was preparing for NEET—we saw how tough it is even for urban students,” says Gayathri Ananthakrishnan,  Project Director, Shanmuganathan Kanagavalli Charitable Trust. She added  “We wanted to bridge that gap by giving rural children access to the same quality materials and support.”

In the last three years six government school children have joined MBBS and BDS. The centre can coach 100 students. Adviser Sathish Kumar added, “We have both Tamil and English medium options. We have translated all materials in Tamil as well. We aim to equip these bright minds with everything they need to succeed.”

If you know a government school student who has just completed Class XII and is eligible under the 7.5% quota, kindly ask them to visit the centre at Magudanchavadi or call 9362525262.
