Innovation Carnival at IIT Madras

Standing tall among the line-up of innovations at IIT Madras is "Mockingjay" a reusable sounding rocket that also aims to generate power from vibrations of the rocket.

Students of IIT Madras have developed a re-usable sounding  rocket that could also derive required electricity from it’s vibrations during the flight. The rocketry team behind this has qualified for “Spaceport America Cup” a global competition, a first among IITs.

Other innovations displayed at an exhibition on Sunday include an a self driving car for large campuses, an electric  formula racing car that aims at faster charging besides higher energy efficiency and hexapod, a robot to explore difficult and hostile terrains.
