Meet Neuro Diverse Coders Developing NFTs

It’s hard to believe but it’s true. A group of seven neuro-diverse youngsters from Chennai and Bengaluru, India have designed NFTs of freedom fighters marking a new milestone as the country celebrates its 75th year of independence. In other words, they have designed digital artworks of Mahathma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Subash Chandra Bose by coding.
Shruti Iyer, a youngster who had remotely worked on this project to design NFT on Nehru from Bengaluru told tellmystory.in “It was a wonderful experience and good exposure to work on art my passion, with coding”.

Three other coders Saravana Raj, Manas and Ananth Raghunandan had worked to give shape to this idea to honor the freedom fighters. Ananth who has developed a passion for coding says ” I’d like to pursue a career in coding”. His mother Rama Dasaratha added, “Now we are looking forward to doing animated storytelling on websites”. Saravana Raj’s mother Deepa Satish is equally thrilled. She said “We see remarkable progress. He’s independent and is able to follow more structured programs. It has given him a new meaning and purpose in life.”
Trained by Manu Sekar a techie who has a passion to develop coding among neuro-diverse youngsters, it took them a week to design these digital artworks in tricolor. His center, HashHackCode is the hub for many children learning coding from India and other countries including the US, UK, and Australia. Many of their parents too get trained in coding to help their children develop this skill. Earlier as the pandemic peaked the team had put together a first-of-its-kind accessible website on covid data to help the visually challenged access the crucial COVID data.
Confident of their potential Manu, the CEO & Founder is launching a new company, a creative codes studio to tap their talent for a niche market catering to advertising agencies and other such avenues. “This level of coding is high. They have come so far, not many can do this and we approach their use in a different way by launching this studio for the neurodiverse talents”.
Opportunities in creative projects Manu hopes would increase their income as well. “I want them to earn at least Rs 50000 a month, that’s my vision” Manu adds.
The NFTs would go on auction on crypto and the proceeds Manu says, would be used to train more neuro-diverse children in coding.
