A start-up in Chennai has launched Pepul, a brand new made in India social media platform. It promotes Aadhar verified users in a bid to make it safe, check fake profiles and curb spread of hatred. The start-up had recently raised 10 crore rupees. Investors include PayTM founder Vijay Shekhar, Freshworks’ Girish Mathrabootham and Silicon Valley based Hourglass Venture Partners.
